REHABILITATION TRAINING WORKSITE

FEBRUARY TO APRIL 2018

The saltworks of La Pointe au Sel ("the Salt Headland") date back to the beginning of the 20th century. They are composed of a succession of 14 cristallizers, one receiving pool and 23 pools. They are made of basalt stone and gradually go down to the ocean, forming terraces. 

Restoration of the cristallizers and circulation areas

Sanding of the paving stones and repointing of watertightness joints

Creation of a pipe for the circulation of waters between the pools

Masonry of basalt stones

Replacement of basalt paving stones of the circulation ways

Repointing
