Located among the nothernmost castles of the Loire, this site has been occupied since the Middle Ages. It served as the residence of Jean DaiIlon, chambellan of king Louis XI, in 1457. The Daillon familly worked for two centuries to embellish the castle by transforming the old medieval building into a leasure retreat. At the end of the 18th century, it was rebuilt by the marquise de Vieuville and, a century latter by the marquis de Talhouët. Classified as a Historical Monument, the castle bears witness to four centuries of French architecture.

Intended for the breeding of mare, the Jumenterie is located in the park of the castle. It corresponds to the constrution and developpment phase of the park in the 19th century, and its rounded shape is atypical.

This building is situated on a domain listed as a "Historical Monument" ever since 1992. It became in turn a Historical Monument in 2020.

Conservation and restoration of the valet house and boxes

Indeed, this site alternates practical sessions, on the site (masonry, stone cutting, assembly of a scaffolding, organization of a site area...), and theoretical sessions to deepen the knowledge acquired in the field (diagnosis of buildings, realization of plans, geology, operation of government services related to heritage, history of architecture...).
